Welcome to The Cooking Sessions, a series of one-of-a-kind cooking/lifestyle classes taught at chez moi (yesss!).
For years, I’ve been working to bring people together at pop-up markets that offer hand-chosen, small-batch food and through the recipes in my cookbook, Food Gift Love. After sharing kitchen experience while on my cookbook tour and at pop-up demonstrations, I’m now stirring things up with cooking classes on some of my very favorite subjects (and the most popular posts on this very site).
We’ll cook and eat and talk and eat and learn, together. Each class will take place in Lynnfield, MA, and includes refreshments, little jars and bags to take home – that’s if we don’t eat it all first! – and a special treat just for you. Classes are limited to six people, so whether you want to make your own pantry staples, host an easy and impressive spring dinner party, or try baking dairy-free goodies, don’t wait to get your tickets.
Revamp Your Pantry: Starting at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 18, this class will teach you how to make healthy-ish versions of everyday pantry staples. Maggie will show you how to make Overnight Oat Jars with Plant Milk; Pecan Poppy Seed Biscotti with Maple Sugar; Cranberry Orange Scones with Coconut Butter; Faux Pho Jars with Dried Mushroom Powder and topped with Crispy Shallots and Shallot Oil. A Spring Dinner Party: Starting at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 18, this class will dive into how to host an impromptu dinner party by creating an amazing on-the-spot Antipasti Table (with an array of fixins, such as roasted pecans, pickled eggs, and rhubarb jam); an elegant and easy-to-serve bowl of Seafood Soup; and an easy make-ahead Rhubarb Panna Cotta. Dairy-Free Baking: Starting at 11:00AM on Saturday, April 17, this class will focus on how to bake dairy-free goodies that taste anything but. You’ll learn how to make Pecan Poppy Seed Biscotti, Cranberry Orange Scones, Blueberry Buckwheat Pancakes, and Homemade Pita (for sandwiches for lunch), and take home scones and a jar of Maple-Sweetened Coconut Butter.
