What We’re Loving: Avocado

No Comments

I usually try to eat as locally and seasonally as possible, but there are some foods for which I’ll make an exception. Until I move back to California and get an avocado tree in my yard, avocado will have to be one of those foods. We always have some on hand these days to feed to the baby; it was one of the first foods she liked to eat, and as we expand her culinary horizons, I’ll often use it as a backup if she refuses a new food. This doesn’t happen as often as it used to, and since avocados have a short window for consumption, my husband and I eat a lot more of them than we used to.

These amazing recipes will give us a lot of choices the next time we find ourselves with an avocado surplus… starting with Avocado Summer Rolls! {from The Tart Tart}

Avocado Toast {from Cookie and Kate}

Bacon and Avocado Fries {from Dine and Dish}

Ginger, Citrus + Black Sesame Carrots with Edamame {from The First Mess}

Teriyaki Salmon Rice Bowl with Spinach and Avocado {from Panning the Globe}

Avocado Pistachio Crème Brulee {from Eats Well with Others}
