I don’t like muss and fuss at my dinner parties. Over the top, glitter everywhere, garland hanging from the rafters, that’s just not me. In fact, I think an easy menu is just the remedy for a maddening holiday season. 2013 will be all about sweet and simple entertaining. (hint hint, to future guests…)

So here’s the simplest appetizer ever: Toast some sliced baguette, top with blue cheese and drizzle with honey. Honey works on most cheeses – blue, ricotta, sharp parmesan. Honey actually makes anything a bit fancier. Drizzle it on veggies or sliced pears or even a bit of salty cured meat, like prosciutto. A good honey will make a dinner party.
