A few weeks back, Josephine emailed me from half way around the world to say she liked Eat Boutique. I thanked her, of course, and we started an email correspondence about her lovely food photographs. This newlywed is from Sydney but lives in Hong Kong and offered to share photos from her travels. As it’s almost winter in New England currently, I wanted to share Josephine’s photos, photos that urge me to find a beach, sip a cocktail and savor something more exotic, to just breathe before the holiday madness sets in. -Maggie
I recently took flight on a romantic and spontaneous adventure in Phuket for seven days with my husband. As a wine and food enthusiast, I found paradise on the exquisite island. We spent most of our time at Layan Beach where we were fortunately surrounded by an abundance of local Thai restaurants.
Each restaurant had their own distinct way of celebrating the exotic culinary flavors of traditional Thai cuisine. Breakfast, lunch and dinner on those seven days consisted of fresh local dishes that were an artists delight, beautifully styled and saturated in colour. The garlic and lime infused clams with ginger and lemongrass followed by the homemade coconut ice cream were amazing; the taste sensation was unforgettable.
I will always remember our seven days in Phuket and our 21 plates of heaven.
All photos styled and photographed by Josephine Rozman.
