Here’s a final draft of my Thanksgiving menu. I didn’t go nuts on desserts as guests will be helping in that area. And I have to always have two stuffings – one with sausage for my husband, and a veggie version for most everyone else. Lots of these recipes come from Gourmet magazine, bible to every true gourmand.

THANKSGIVING 2007

STARTERS

  • Pear Brandy Cocktails
  • Roasted Hazelnuts with Thyme
  • Platter of Prosciutto, Mortadella, Salami and Provolone
  • Pepperoni Bread (a fun favorite in our family)

PROTEIN

  • Maple-Glazed Turkey with Gravy
  • Smoked Turkey a la Don
  • Pesto-crusted Halibut with Lemon Beurre Blanc

SIDE DISHES

  • Cranberry Sauce with Port and Orange
  • Haricot Vert with Herb Butter
  • Sauteed Greens with Garlic and Red Onion
  • Hazelnut, Sage and Mushroom Stuffing
  • Italian Sausage and Bread Stuffing
  • Mashed Potatoes with Caramelized Garlic and Parsnips

DESSERTS

  • Cheese Platter with Champagne Grapes, Crackers and Fig Spread
  • Molasses Cookies
  • Apple Pie
  • Pumpkin Pie
