As I’ve gotten (just a wee bit) older, I cherish those rare moments when I get to feel like a little kid again. And sipping a frothy shake on a warm summer’s day is an easy way to return to simpler times spent running through sprinklers, hiding in hopes that someone will seek, and knowing all troubles will vanish in a parent’s embrace. Now take that same shake and spike it with an intoxicating liqueur (we’re all adults here), and you now have the perfect treat. In fact, I’d like to shake {apologies for the pun} the hand of the person who first combined sweet ice cream with a splash of boozy bliss. Pure genius.

Thankfully, I am not alone in my love of all things sentimental and spirited, and several of our favorite food bloggers have marvelous milkshakes made just for adults. Cheers!

I have a friend who keeps frozen milk punch on hand as an adult milkshake. It’s a special treat.

    • Oh my goodness, Linda, why didn’t we think of that? Such a good idea 😉 xox
