After spending all day today meeting new food fans in Cambridge, Massachusetts, I’m so ready to see you on Sunday, December 9. Use this blog post as your insider’s guide to the Holiday Market in Boston – the flow, the makers, the timing, the authors, it’s all here. We’re plum out of VIP tickets, but for those of you who don’t yet have tickets, well, we hope this teaser will convince you to join us. Get your tickets here and let us introduce you to some of our friends (oh, you know, Joy the Baker, Marisa McClellan, San from the Coffee Trike, America’s Test Kitchen, Suss Sweets… and the list goes on).

The address for the Holiday Market is 100 West 2nd Street, Boston, MA, so write that down, okay? There is a lot of shopping (and sampling) to be done in one afternoon, so get your game face on and get to it. VIP ticket holders can check in starting at noon; for general admission, we ask that you arrive during the time slot you purchased your ticket for: either 1p.m. to 3p.m. or 3p.m. to 5p.m., but feel free to stay and shop as long as you like.
Ok, so you make it in the door, welcome! Be on the lookout for San and his Coffee Trike with piping hot cocoa and coffee samples. Google will be there taking photos, too. And, when you look around and say my, oh my, this holiday decor is stunning – thank Foret Design who will be on hand to make the space beautiful and sell flowers and holilday greens. MEET THE MAKERS, EAT THE FOOD, BUY SMALL BATCH
Anchor yourself with Eat Boutique, you can find us in the center of the space where we’ll be sampling some of our favorite small batch food from around the USA. Every hour, we’ll switch up the products (think breakfast theme, then candy, and so on). Buy what you like and we’ll package it up nice and pretty for you to take as a gift (to someone else or just for you, we won’t tell!). Items we’ll have on hand for gifts include: Rare Bird Passion Fruit Curd, Morris Kitchen Ginger Syrup, Dave’s Coffee Syrup, Boat Street Pickled Figs, Fox Hollow Mustard, Treat Spiced Pecans and so much more.
After you say hello to us, fan out and meet the 30 food makers and 10 drink makers (we’re talking Cow and Crumb, BOLA granola, Fastachi, FAIR.spirits, Travessia Winery, Fat Spice, Vianne Chocolat, Bow and Sparrow Bakery, Beehive Kitchenware Co and more) on hand with their boutique food and gifts. If you like the food you taste, buy it on the spot from the maker. The Urban Grape will set up shop alongside the drink makers so you can place orders for pick up later at their store.
CHAT UP YOUR FAVORITE COOKBOOK AUTHOR
You know them, you love them and for one whole afternoon they will be all yours. We, of course, are talking about this sensational lineup of cookbook authors: Joy Wilson (Joy the Baker Cookbook) and Marisa McClellan (Food in Jars) will be on hand from noon to 1p.m. exclusively for the VIP ticket holders, then stay on from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. alongside Aran Goyoaga (Small Plates and Sweet Treats) and Katie Workman (The Mom 100 Cookbook). From 3p.m. to 5p.m. chat up Beatrice Peltre (La Tartine Gourmande), Liz Gutman and Jen King (The Liddabit Sweets Cookbook), Maria Speck (Ancient Grains for Modern Meals), and Amy Traverso (The Apple Lovers Cookbook). Buy their books at the Eat Boutique station first, and then get them signed.
DON’T MISS THE ACTION
Island Creek Oysters will be shucking oysters and offering samples with a variety of sauces while Maine ice cream maker Rococo will be doling out their icy artisan treats. Ocean Ave Pops are making a special Eat Boutique pop they’ll have just for the market. And for all the cheese lovers out there (wait, isn’t that everybody?), Nobscot Artisan Cheese will be on hand sampling their magic.
MINGLE WITH OUR CREATIVE PARTNERS
We’re lucky to have some pretty amazing creative partners helping us pull off this market and we know you’ll want to show them some love. America’s Test Kitchen will be giving out samples of homemade granola and Ana Sortun’s Chef Sets will be cooking, offering samples and selling their amazing DIY meal sets for holiday gifts. Roost Books have also teamed up with us to share their pretty craft books.
